The Gold Award is one of the Additional Recognised Activities you can record on your HEAR. So what does it involve and what do you get out of it?
Are you aware of your strengths and weaknesses? Do you know what you want to do in the future? Have you ever reflected on your experiences?
If you are interested to know more about yourself and find answers to these questions, get on board with the Gold Award this year. Through the Gold Award, you improve your skills, increase your self-awareness and become part of an enthusiastic group of students who want to challenge themselves and become better.
So what’s the Gold Award really about?
In short, it’s a personal and professional development programme that helps you to reflect on your experiences and develop the skills you are gaining from co-curricular activities. You can think of it as a ‘Journey’ with a couple of stops that encourage you to think about where you are and what you want to do next. If you complete a personal development record, log 40 hours of co-curricular activities (part-time work, volunteering, mentoring…), attend 4 workshops of your choice, create a LinkedIn profile, submit a creative piece of work and finally, do a presentation in front of a panel you become a GOLD AWARD ACHIEVER!
We will provide you with support
We will guide you on your Gold Award Journey and help you to find new opportunities for your development. We support you but it’s you who makes decisions and takes responsibility for the next steps. You will be amazed what you can do and how self-confident you can become!
